Our Mission

Ventura Adult and Continuing Education prepares diverse learners with academic, vocational and technological competencies for the 21st century global workforce.

Our Philosophy

Ventura Adult and Continuing Education is founded on the belief that knowledge is the key element of life. The more that is known about a subject, the more it can be enjoyed, pursued, accepted, or defended. Recognizing that adult learning patterns and needs must be addressed in sensitive and responsible manners, the training programs have been designed to be comprehensive, supportive, and flexible. The staff of Ventura Adult and Continuing Education is dedicated to meeting each individual student’s academic and vocational needs and to the development of self-worth through education.

Accreditation

Ventura Adult and Continuing Education has been recognized on both the state and federal levels. The school was again granted a six-year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 2007. The program was identified as a “model program” that meets one of the five National Education Goals for “America 2000.” That goal states that every adult American will be literate and possess the skills necessary to compete in a global economy. The Technology Development Center was selected by the California Department of Education as a Vocational Program of Excellence.
