Free Computer Basic Skills Class, EDC Upskill

This 6-week course presented by the Economic Development Collaborative’s Digital Upskilling Training Program teaches adults essential computer skills that are needed in daily life. This course is especially helpful for adult learners who need more computer skills in order to get a job or move into a higher-paying job. Space is limited to 25 students. Child care is provided. English as a Second Language classes are available at two locations. For more information, call 805.289.1744. There will be morning and evening classes meeting Monday through Thursday or Monday and Wednesday. Free Citizenship Class

This free class helps U.S. Permanent Residents prepare to become U.S. Citizens. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm After you register for the class, the teacher will be in contact with you. Free Paraeducator Training

AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks Classes

The AutoCAD online and in-person class will provide you with practical, hands-on experience working with the software. No previous knowledge of AutoCAD is necessary. The Revit 3D Design online and in-person class will provide you with practical, hands-on experience working with the software. No previous knowledge of Revit is necessary. Intermediate and Advanced Revit users can continue to learn the software, picking up where they left off. The SolidWorks online and in-person class will provide you with practical, hands-on experience working with the software. Solid modeling will enhance and extend your industrial design capabilities. Learn the fundamentals of SolidWorks drawing commands involving 3D solid modeling to produce high-end industrial models. No previous knowledge of SolidWorks is necessary. Accounting and QuickBooks Pro

The Accounting class teaches the basics of accounting, including the entire accounting cycle, preparing financial statements, and formal bank reconciliations. Learn Medical Terminology

The online and in-person Medical Terminology course is designed to help students learn medical terminology easily and quickly. No previous knowledge of medical terminology is required. The course is organized based on a body-system approach. Students will learn common anatomical roots, suffixes, and prefixes, the proper way to analyze terms, build medical words, basic body organization and the 14 body systems. FREE ENCORE Program at VACE

Are you a senior in need of computer skills? This class offers basic computer and technology training for senior job seekers. Check out our ENCORE program! Approved for CalWORKs and California Training Benefits (CTB). Attend in-person sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am to 10 am and from 10 am to noon at VACE, 5200 Valentine Road, and at Ventura Avenue Adult Center, 550 N. Ventura Avenue. ENCORE is a hands-on, self-paced training program. Follow written materials and receive help from a teacher as needed. It is not a traditional lecture class where you have to be at the same point as everyone else.

FREE Workforce Development Academy at VACE

The Workforce Development Academy (WDA) provides free training to help job seekers improve existing skills and develop new ones. Call 805-289-1744 to reserve a seat. Click to get details on the WDA classes! Students who complete the course receive Certificates of Completion.

Google Academy

VACE’s Google Academy workshops teach students how to use Google’s free applications such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Draw, Gmail, Drive and more! This self-paced online class will provide video lectures and hands-on practice to participants to better prepare them to use the applications for personal use, at school and/or in the workplace. NCCT Phlebotomy Testing Center

Ventura Adult and Continuing Education provides Phlebotomy and Medical Assistant certification testing services through National Center for Competency Testing. If you need to take a test leading to certification, you must register online. Ventura Adult and Continuing Education, located at 5200 Valentine Road in Ventura, is an authorized testing center. There is a $30 sitting fee (waived for VACE students), due the day of the test.

You must complete an online application form and submit it with an exam fee two weeks prior to the scheduled test date. Go to the NCCT website at http://www.ncctinc.com to create a log in and for specific details that you must include in your application package.
